Felling of Hung Boiler

 
​This past week American Integrated Services, Inc. (AIS) successfully demolished the last structure at this Biomass power plant in Central California. The 125-foot-tall hung boiler was tripped using wire-ropes attached to heavy equipment as part of a fully engineered felling sequence. The professionally engineered design required precise torch cuts at each of the primary support columns and a synchronized pulling process. The demolition process, under scrutiny from local regulators and stakeholders, was executed without incident. Over the next few weeks AIS’s demolition team will process the boiler structure and internal tubing using a combination of hydraulic shears and open flame cutting torches. I agree. Boilers are crucial for providing steam and hot water for process operation purposes. As we are aware, steam boilers generate steam by heating water through fuel combustion that implies the pivotal role of water in steam production.
