AIS recently executed the explosive felling of the 300-foot chimney at Resolution Copper’s Superior AZ mine. Adding to the complexity of this highly visible project was the compromised structural condition of the chimney. AIS developed an engineered work plan that allowed our demolition specialists to safely and successfully demolish the structure without incident. 12/20/2018 AIS Holiday Party at The Queen MaryOn Saturday, December 15, 2018, American Integrated Services, Inc. celebrated 20 years of safely serving our clients, communities and the environment with an all-company Christmas party at The Queen Mary in Long Beach. These services include chemical and industrial waste cleanup, management and/or disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste; asbestos and lead abatement; decontamination and demolition of industrial properties. 9/26/2018 Beaumont ProjectThe Beaumont project consists of anaerobic bioremediation of perchlorates impacted soil at the site. Perchlorates were previously used in explosives and flare manufacturing processes. AIS constructed the bioremediation cells using engineered interlocking blocks. The bottom and sides of the cells were lined with thick plastic sheets overlapped and chemically welded together to form a leak proof containment chamber. Following the excavation and stockpiling of the material, a screen was used to separate rocks and large cobbles from the material. Prepared material was processed through an automated pugmill equipped with metered chemical injection pumps and a conveyer system to deliver the material into the cells. Pugmill brakes the clay-ey soil clusters, mixes the impacted soil to a homogeneous mass while allowing calculated quantities of soil amendments and water to be added to the mix. Following placement of the processed material into the cells, each cell was covered with welded thick plastic sheets in a “burrito” style and allowed to bioremediate. Within a short period, the contamination was reduced to below regulatory requirements. |
